Ingredients of Thattey idli veggie and cheese stuffed mini sandwitches
- You need 11/2 cup of rice.
- You need 1/2 cup of black gram daal (without skin).
- It's 1/2 cup of thick flat rice.
- It's 4 tablespoon of Sago(sabudaana in hindi).
- It's 1/2 teaspoon of cooking soda.
- It's to taste of Salt.
- Prepare of Oil for greasing thattey idli moulds.
- It's of For thattey idli sandwitch stuffing-.
- Prepare 1 of onion finely chopped.
- It's 1 of tomato finely chopped.
- It's 4 tablespoon of finely chopped coriander leaves.
- It's 1/4 cup of grated regular cheese.
- You need of Tomato ketchup sweet and sour as per requirement.
- It's of Few mint leaves for garnishing.
- It's 2 inch of tomato pieces for garnishing.
- Prepare of Few toothpicks.
Stuffed Idli is a delicious and healthy snack. For the filling, I used spicy chana dal stuffing which makes it unique and also flavorful. I like to serve stuffed Idli with tea or as an appetizer with a side of cilantro chutney. This also makes a great lunch box meal as it is.
Thattey idli veggie and cheese stuffed mini sandwitches instructions
- For thattey idli batter-.
- Rins each of them Rice,black gram daal,thick flat rice,Sago separately 3 to 4 times with fresh water..
- Soak rice and Sago for 4-5 hours..
- Soak black gram daal and thick flat rice in a separate bowl for 1 to 11/2 hours in sufficient amount of water..
- Firstly make a paste out of soaked black gram daal in a mixer grinder by adding little water at a time as per requirement..
- Now grind soaked sago,rice,thick flat rice by adding little water at a time as per requirement..
- Thattey idli paste is smoother than normal idli batter..
- Add both the ready paste in a bowl and add salt to taste and mix nicely with the help of spoon..
- Cover and keep this batter for fermentation for 10-12 hours in a hot place..
- After 12 hours before pouring this batter in thattey idli plates mix lightly with a laddle..
- Grease thattey idli plates..
- If you want you can add cooking soda before pouring batter in thattey idli plates its your choice by doing this thattey idli will become more spongy after cooking..
- Firstly add water in idli maker and let it boil meantime pour thatey idli batter in greased plates..
- When water starts boiling keep this thattey idli stand and close the lid,let it cook on high to medium flame for 10 minutes..
- After 10 minute open the idli cooker lid and insert knife if it comes out clean that means thattey idli are ready..
- Switch of the flame and allow to cool..
- After 10 minutes demold thattey idli from thattey idli stand..
- Thattey idli sandwitch stuffing-add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix..
- Take 2 thattey idli.
- Spread some tomato sauce on one thattey idli and spread some grated cheese over this..
- Now keep some ready sandwitch stuffing over this grated cheese.add some tomato sauce over this stuffing..
- Add one more layer of grated cheese and cover with another thattey idli..
- Now cut this ready thattey idli veggie sandwitch in square shape mini sandwitches.or you can cut into shapes which you like with the help of knife..
- Keep one mint leaf and over this keep one square shape small tomato piece, now insert one tooth pick so that mini sandwitches will become easy for kids to eat and they will look beautiful..
- If you want you can add some mayonnaise sauce and green chutney..
