Omurice (Japanese Rice Omelette) is another Western-influenced Japanese dish. It is an omelette with ketchup-flavoured chicken fried rice inside it. So, the original omurice is not like today's omurice but rather like fried rice with lots of eggs. The shape of this dish resembles the modern. With a fluffy omelette covering a bed of savory sweet chicken fried rice, omurice (オムライス) is a modern Japanese classic that kids love.
